No organization will exist for very long if it does not have goals and objectives. The main goal of H.A.N.D.S. is to provide a mechanism for sourcing and coordinating resources for the educational, cultural, social and economic development of children and youths of the Stann Creek West constituency.

Building on this goal, the specific objectives below were developed. The intention is not to isolate Stann Creek West from the rest of the country or the world, but to provide focus, given the enormous task that is being undertaken.

These objectives are all inclusive and seek to provide the same level of opportunities for all the children and youth of the constituency.

SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT

Specific Objectives:

• EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES, SUPPLIES & SCHOLARSHIPS
  Attempts will be made to assist with ensuring that all primary schools have basic facilities such as classrooms, furniture, reading, and writing materials. In addition, where possible, scholarships will be sought for deserving students.

• HEALTH
  Establish regular medical, dental and vision checkups.

• UNIFORMS
  The organization will help provide school uniforms for deserving students.

• SPORTS EQUIPMENT
  Participation in sports is an important part of the development of a child. The foundation will seek to provide sports equipment and encourage the development of sports programs in the schools.

• ARTS & CRAFT SUPPLIES
  The foundation will encourage the development of the creativity inherent in our youth by helping to provide arts and craft supplies for the schools.

• ACCESS & TRAINING ON COMPUTERS
